* Cheryl Carter's Debut CD, 'HOLD ON TO THE JOY', is an eclectic delight featuring easy listening originals . With the title song “HOLD ON TO THE JOY” she combined a soulful ballad with jazz pop sensibilities & lush production.
The most patriotic song you will ever hear. “BACKYARD AMERICA” is a soulful Western Americana Pop ballad that celebrates a time when 'life' and 'growing up' was simpler -- when, as kids, we couldn't WAIT to get outside and play with our friends
Upbeat jazzy blues song with killer guitar and powerful vocals. This song makes you want to dance & clap along with a 'fine-tuned female'.
Warm and soft, this voice melts your heart with poetic heart-melting lyric about the true meaning of FAMILY and CHRISTMAS. Light-hearted melody with lush arrangement. Soft & cozy.

I remember hearing an interview with Ray Charles and he said, "There is soul in all kinds of music if you have the heart to hear it."
That philosophy always resonated deep within me, because I have loved and been involved in so many different kinds of music: from Contemporary Top 40 to Opera, from musical theater to madrigals, from choral groups to church choirs. However, the music that ALWAYS brought my heart home was the kind of stylings inspired by the likes of classic Divas, Nancy Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald and Barbra Streisand.
When forming my own show, and as I breathe life into my new CD, the legacy of these consummate singers, serve as a model of excellence for choosing my material and presenting my own individual style. Ultimately, all of my songs are very meaningful to me.Shure mics.
