Chris Moore is a singer/songwriter who records his own music -- mainly acoustic rock -- as well as playing with the newly formed band Masters of the Universe (MoU). He is constantly reading and writing, attempting to grow professionally.
Why this name?
I drew it out of a hat, pretty randomly.
Do you play live?
Yes, most recently with MoU at The Space in Hamden.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet allows for incredibly widespread distribution of songs, such as those of a guitar and harmonica player from a small town in Connecticut. This simply wouldn't have been possible before the internet, before websites like this. It does take away from the medium of the album, which is sad to me.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Being paid to write and play my songs. Hmmm... Ask me again sometime...
Band History:
CHRIS MOORE lives in Wallingford, CT and attends school at CCSU. He is an English secondary ed. major and a creative writing minor. He plays guitar and harmonica, as well as bass and keyboards when necessary for recording his songs. But guitar and harmonica are what he'll admit to playing... In December, he released an ep of 8 new songs, "Love Out of Fashion," all of which is available online at www.chris-moore.com in the albums section. He hopes to record some of his new songs with MoU!
Your influences?
Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys, Ben Folds, the Wallflowers, the Barenaked Ladies, Warren Zevon, the Beatles (as a group and as solo artists), Gene Clark, Eric Clapton, Weezer, White Stripes
Favorite spot?
My car, driving and listening to music.
Equipment used:
Fender.
Anything else...?
"Happy Is You" is an abnormally lovey-dovey song for me, but it was the favorite among my friends and co-workers, so I'm making it the "single" for "Love Out of Fashion."
