Amber Mims (reason), was born and raised in Washington DC. Throughout her adolescence she loved music, to listen to it, to create it, and even imitated some of its most talented musicians. Duke Ellington School of the Arts is where she began formal training in the department. Throughout her four years of High School she continued to perform as a vocalist in many school productions, choirs and bands in and outside of school. Studying mostly classical, she later branched into jazz upon entering New School University’s Jazz and Contemporary music program. She understands music is a passion and a gift, you either love it or you don’t and she loves it.
