"Hopefully in five years, people all over the country will know my name."
Philly Wild, a.k.a. Phillip Morris, is a young aspiring rapper/hip-hop artist/producer from the small town of Cheswold, Delaware. He has been a fan of the hip-hop industry for years and has recently chosen to jump in the fray. At 19, he knows that he has a lot of time to make up, but he seems to be ready for the challenges. "Prior to 2005 I wasn't really thnking about rapping as a hobby for myself, let alone a career choice," he says, "I need to get my flow tweaked a little bit, but when I get right...watch out America."
Personal Background:
Born in the mid-1980s, and raised in the 90s, PW has become very knowledgable in this genre and is a fan of all types of music. His relationship with people from all diverse cultures has helped him grow into a well-rounded individual, "I'm generally known as a very nice guy, no matter how I feel about someone I always try to make any and all of my relationships work. I look forward to the future and to wherever this dream of mine takes me."
PW sees himself as a 'pure' rapper, he doesn't front, he doesn't rap about things he has never seen or he himself has gone though. The music industry is filled with all of these so-called 'hardcore, gangsta rappers', and instead of being part that group, PW is forging his own path to greatness for the next generation. He realizes that this will give him less exposure, but he will get through it. "I get tired of seeing random young kids tryin' to rap about how many guns they got, the people they shot, or how much drugs they be sellin', I'm like nigga you like 17 years old, what have you seen?? -laughs- Thats why I'm bringing a new style into the game..." The pattern of his rapping style is to show a story through his words, and deliver a message to the people. "I want to tell people a story in my lyrics, so they can listen to my music and understand the meaning of the song". PW is not afraid to voice his opinions on any subject matter, and his future albums will reflect that.
PW's goals are to not only become a nationally well-known artist/producer, but also to stay true to his Delaware roots. On October 14, 2005, he founded 302 Records, a small indie record label for exclusively Delaware rap/hip-hop/R&B artists. He wants to help other artists like himself to get into the music industry.
I'm a huge fan of lyrical hip-hop and rap music.
Strictly my computer. I have Magix Music Studio 10 and Musicmatch Jukebox. I've also used the standard sound applications that come with Windows-based systems.
