Rodrica Rudge is a UK songwriter who writes, performs and produces all her songs. She has written songs in all genres, but concentrates on rock and alternative material with additional ventures into blues, soul and pop. Her songs have received both terrestrial and internet radio play and she has won songwriting competitions.
Why this name?
Someone said invent a name...so I did.
Do you play live?
All material is studio based as I work as a songwriter rather than a performer - although I do perform, record and produce all the material I write.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has created far more opportunities for independent musicians to be heard and to attract a wider audience. It has reduced the need to travel too, many musicians collaborate at an international level via the web.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would sign a publishing deal if the contract seemed right.
Band History:
Rodrica Rudge started out as a classical pianist and went on to become a published poet who then concentrated on writing lyrics and music. She currently writes specially commissioned songs for individuals or companies/organisations. She writes, performs, produces and engineers all the material herself.
Your influences?
A wide range of styles: Paul Rodgers (ex Free/Bad Company), Deep Purple, Steve Winwood (Traffic), Cream, Fleetwood Mac, all the Motown and Stax artists, The Kinks (Ray Davies) and many soul and blues artists.
Favorite spot?
Anywhere tranquil and away from the crowds

Recording/mixing/hardware: Mackie, Yamaha, Alesis, Tascam, Empirical Labs, Focusrite, Shure. Amps: Marshall. Guitars: Ibanez Bass, Line 6 Variax with Line 6 effects units.
