This is a progressive acoustic rock song using (at times) aggressive and passive, percussive acoustic guitar playing style with a non-standard tuning.
This is an adaptation from a poem of mine written in 2009. The music is derivative of, and draws its inspiration from many sources; My Scottish roots, American Folk, Progressive Rock, my love of percussive acoustic style guitar, and the lyrics pull from divergent philosophical disciplines, and life observation.
The Jester is the arch-nemesis in your life that attempts, by hook-or-crook (any means possible) to cause confusion, via faux-confutation to destroy what you know to be true. He is relentless and tireless, and will return time-after time to cause confusion in your life. But you can, by being relentless yourself, in the truth you know, defeat this joker by standing on the rock of facts and truth. Eventually his lies die away, or he simply seeks some weaker mind to work on. But, even if he sticks around, you have the means to expose his shenanigans.
The bottom line is this: Does the vague innuendoes and lies of the Jester control your life, simply because he “tells it loud enough and long enough” so that perception becomes reality? Or do you stand on what you know to be true, and defy this clown to either “put up or shut up”.
The choice is yours.

Thus Spoke the Jester
The jester thrust public his podium
His joke for the masses to please
He spoke long enough, and spoke loud enough
As it spread wide circuitously, and it spread wide circuitously
Thus spoke the Jester quizzically…
Thus spoke the Jester equivocally……
“Did He really say?”… “Is this His only way?”
This joker speaks open once closeted
Hushed whispers now shouts to proclaim
He twists lyrically his posited fallacies
Minds eye photos forced frame by frame, minds eye photos forced frame by frame
Thus spoke the Jester quizzically……
Thus spoke the Jester perniciously……
“Did it really say?”… “Is this His only way?”
The Jester danced all around the crowd
Spreading his whimsical words
The Jester danced, and no one could deny
Because no one… NO, no one, would avert their eyes
Repeatedly shouting he forces emphatically
Volume and frequency his only facts
Within his relativistic hubris
No absolutes it seems left intact, No absolutes left intact
Thus spoke the Jester quizzically……
Thus spoke the Jester evasively……
“Does He really say?”… “Is there any other way?”
The Jester danced all around the crowd
Spreading his whimsical words
The Jester danced, and no one could deny
Because no one… NO, no one, would avert their eyes
The Crown Prince stands quietly steadfast
For His task painstakingly done
And tenderly He watches and waits
Doors wide for all who’ll come, doors wide for all who’ll come
Thus silencing the Jester painfully……
Thus silencing the Jester magnificently……
“Yes He really said?”… “That’s His only way?”
