Tryied to write another song. Acoustic guitar (Tanglwood Java), software sim bass from the same guitar, La Mancha Ruby classical on lead. The song may seem over romantic but it's true. Rain has often been a feature in times of profound change for me

Two free online songwriting courses (Sheffield Uni and Berklee) have rekindled my interest in writing songs. However the words were helped more by software called Rhyme Genie - which sparked ideas more than producing any of the rhymes I used. There's a long way to go in pursuing this idea of writing songs - very early stages as yet.
I'm standing in the dark, I'm leaning on my car
Breathing my cigar smoke, playing my guitar
But it really isn't helpful, and the rain it starts to fall
I'm sad and I'm lonely, and it drives me up the wall.
It does nothing but rain, it's become my ball and chain
I'm locked in a cell built just for one
I've got this strange idea, that a change could be quite near
and this could be my finest ever year
Time moves along, and nothings going wrong
I've met a lovely pretty girl
But can she take to me, can she set me free
Only time is going to tell.
It still rains at times, but now I like the signs
A path is opening up for me
It's the road to freedom, to losing all that pain
the road to love and happiness, and feeling right as rain.
We're sitting in the car, no sign of a single star
the rain pours down, there's stillness all around
there's stillness to the night, and every thing's just right
the change is so profound, my life is turned around.
It may be raining now, but I'm really loving how
the street-light sparkles in your eyes
now I've found you dear, the change is now quite clear
and I'll now have my finest ever years.
I'll now have my finest ever years.
