Tenth song of FAWM 2009. Possibly this song has a trip hop vibe to it. My compositional goal with this piece was to create chords without actually playing chords (spelling the harmony out on several instruments).

Story behind the song
Vertigo at the Edge, well, there's a long story behind the title, and I'm not about to tell it. Let's just say I'm discouraged by a lot of things, and barely getting by. No actual chords are played in this song; they are implied by the notes played on the individual instruments. I wrote an article on my music blog about the underlying harmonies: Vertigo at the Edge This song makes use of some very high quality crash cymbal samples from the Freesound Project. All of the following samples were created by ltibbits, and are available in a cymbal sample pack. *New*: This song was eventually remixed and made part of my sixth Jamendo album, In Unexpected Places.
