Greg Peters singer/songwriter was born August 12th in Atlanta Georgia at Grady Memorial Hospital. Greg began singing very young at Mount Nebo Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. At the early age of eight as he returned home from revival he heard a song on the radio that would change his singing life forever. The song was entitled “Get Right Church” by the late great Reverend James Cleveland. Greg would soon have an opportunity to showcase his singing ability on a Communion Sunday as he led “Get Right Church” with the Mount Nebo Mass Choir, where his love for music blossomed.
While attending Brown High School in Atlanta Georgia, Greg formed a band with a couple of classmates. They performed at several talent shows. Greg leading the band with his soulful voice performed several genres of music from Billy Idol to Prince and everything in between. As Greg’s senior year in high school grew to an end in 1984, Greg enlisted in the United States Navy. While enlisted in the Navy he met K.C. Milbry, who would help him write several Rhythm & Blues songs. K.C. would compose while Greg wrote lyrics; the first song they ever wrote together was entitled, “By the Shore”. Greg was honorably discharged in 1990.
In 2001 Greg joined the Disciples of Faith Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop J.T. Stroud. After being baptized for the second, time Greg rediscovered his voice and realized that God had given him a talent to sing and write songs to lift up his holy name. While at the Disciples of Faith Holiness Church Greg wrote his first gospel song entitled, “Whosoever”. Since writing his first gospel song he has not stopped writing or singing since.
Greg has performed at New Morning Light Baptist Church in Conley, Georgia Gospel Showcase and Covenant Ministries Winter Jam in Decatur, Georgia Winter Jam.
