Don Tipton

Christian Music Artist & Songwriter: Don Tipton, his style of music will both bless you, and lead you to the throne of God.

Don Tipton is the former lead singer for the Christian rock band: "Compassion". He is happily married, and the proud father of four daughters. Originally from Ohio, he spent a number of years in Michigan, during which he was part of the worship team at his church, Macomb Christian Community Center. He now resides in Tennessee.

Don is a Christian singer, songwriter, and also plays guitar. He has been a Spirit filled Christian for most of his adult life. His style of music ministers to young, and old alike.

Life has not always been easy, and he has endured his share of struggles, but through it all Jesus Christ has been his solid rock, the Holy Spirit has been his Comforter, and Guide, and God the Father has been faithful, and blessed him time and time again.

Don released his first solo album called "Holy Fire" in late 2005.

I come before you now, knowing that I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of all my sins, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness, and clothe me with your forgiveness, and your robe of righteousness. I repent of all my past failures, and shortcomings.

I know I've missed the mark, but please come into my heart, and my life right now, and fill me with your Holy Spirit, and baptize me in that same Holy Spirit. Teach me to live for you from this day forward. Give me a hunger for your word & a desire to serve you all the days of my life. AMEN!!!!

Yes I do play live, but currently I only play in, and around Nashville, and the surrounding area. I love playing live! Special moments are when I look out in the crowd, and see people really worshiping the Lord, and getting into my music.

Contemporary Christian artists such as, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, Third Day, Jeff Deyo, and Charlie Hall.

I believe that today's Christian music is becoming more pointed to God, than about God, or ministering one to another.

God revealed to me several years ago that Contemporary Christian Music was headed in the very direction it has taken. Less about us, and more about Him. Todays Christian music is full of Praise & Worship to our Lord, Jesus Christ. It has become vertical music, instead of only horizontal. In other words it has become directed to Him, instead of just singing about Him to each other. I believe this is a sign of the last days, as Jesus prepares His bride to meet the bridegroom, Himself of course. We are falling deeply in love with Him.

Most of the songs I have written over the past few years are written to the Lord, and not just about Him.

I must interject though we are to still reach out to the lost, in order to fulfill the Great Commission, but when people see us worshiping God, then they are moved by the Holy Spirit to do the same! www.dontipton.com

On my Country side my influences are: Restless Heart, Diamond Rio, Sawyer Brown, Alabama, Little Texas, and Allan Jackson.

Country music is also in my blood, even though Christian music is my heart. I have written many New Country, Country Pop, Traditional Country, Rockabilly, and just plain Country & Western songs over the years, and the release of my new CD "Raised On Country" is a way of getting these songs out to were people can hear them. I believe them to be very good songs that a lot of people will relate to. No I'm not jumping to Country Music.
