Emily Rocks. So does the band. If you like roots rock, you'll like the Emily Patterson Band. Covering Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crowe, Joan Osborn and others and adding original material the band found an immediate fan base in the Memphis club scene. The band consisted of Emily Patterson, acoustic guitar and lead vocals; Don Peters, rhythm and lead guitar; Scott Poage, lead and rhythm guitar; Maggie Ginn, bass; and Greg Patterson on drums. Since the demise of the band Emily has continued writing and recording with her husband Greg Patterson and various guest musicians. The latter songs on this page are some of those recordings.
Band/artist history
We met and started rehersals in July of 2001. Debuted in December, 2001 and played for 6 months steady. Emily now records with her husband, Greg.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Played Memphis clubs such as Newbies, Hi Point Pinch, T J Mulligans, and Zinnies East Full Moon Club.
Your musical influences
The members of the band have a wide array of musical influences. As a band, we tended to follow the paths of Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crowe, Joan Osborn, Dar Williams etc., due to Emily's musical tastes.
What equipment do you use?
Emily plays a Tack with a pickup. Don plays a Strat Deluxe Plus through a Peavey Classic 50. Scott plays a Les Paul through a Marshall. Maggie plays a '59 Fender Precision through a GK200rcb amp, a Peavey CS400, and a Hartke 410 cab. Greg plays Ludwig drums.
Anything else?
Emily is an incredible singer. Give us a listen. Also, check out Don (Don Peters) and Greg's (Greg Patterson and his hard rock project PCP) pages on Soundclick.com
