Flytrap is a NYC-based band consisting of 5 members from the Brooklyn/Queens areas. This hard-rocking, heavy melodic quintet formed in 2000. Their sound range from heavy, thrashing rock, to melodic, unique compositions, to a combination of both. By way of luck and fate, these 5 guys of totally different worlds of music came together to blend what is now the sounds you hear or will ever hear. Playing for years in other projects gave these guys the experience and knowledge to perfect their sound and work as a unit together.
The story is pretty basic as far as the uniting of Flytrap. To make an extremely long story short: Jay (vocalist) whom worked with Adam (drummer) at Manny's Music, located in the heart of Manhattan, always bullshitted with each other about jamming together. While the both of them were frustrated with their current bands, they decided to turn that idea of jamming together into a reality. Recruiting Adam's long-time friend and guitarist, Hubert, they started as a three-piece band. Then, pulling in Jay's long-time friend and DJ, Amazin A, they had a foundation for what is now Flytrap. Going through a small number of inadequate bassists, the band found their missing piece, Jeff (bassist).
During their first year of their existence as a whole, they played out constantly and consistently throughout the New York area seeking to create a buzz and following.
The members of Flytrap begins with drummer Adam, who is the backbone of the band and pretty much the big brother. Then there is guitarist Hubert, whom is the "silent but deadly" heart of the band. Next is DJ Amazin A, who is the most unpredictable, odd, controversial person you will ever meet. Even his band members can't figure him out... There is Jeff, who is a straight-shooter of the band and everyone's best friend. And lastly, there's Jay, the communicator, the front man.Your musical influences
