Your musical influences
Having been raised in the 50s and 60s, I would have to say that the biggest influnces on my style of song writing is both folk music and ballads. If the lyrics don't touch the heart, then music is nothing more than noise.

James, I play your song on my keyboard, and sing it in the nursing homes, especially when I am doing a teaching from the Bible for them.
