L.I.E. was formed in 2000, and after many lineup changes and many practices, began playing out in 2002. They recorded their EP, "Ruins," in late 2002 and early 2003 and released it April 18th, 2003 independently. "Die Trying" was recorded and released independently in 2005, giving the band its mark as an action movie in musical form.
Band/artist history
2000 - L.I.E. began as White Noise, with Jason Kincaid (vocals), Adam Tramposh (bass), and Tim Lyons (guitar) 2000-2001 - various lineup changes. Kincaid is kicked out. Adam Crain joins as drummer. Dustin Banbury joins on keyboards. Singers are cycled through like dime whores. 2002 - band says "fuck it," Tim Lyons becomes vocalist as well as guitarist. 2003 - Band releases "Ruins" to critical acclaim. 2005 - Band releases "Die Trying."
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play anywhere and everywhere that will take us. Niener's, The Hurricane, The Bunker, Studio 24, and then we play shows like Rock For Hope and shows with Sonofagun Productions. So far the main special moments have been just getting a rise out of the crowd - we were playing a show in Atchison, KS through Sonofagun Productions... small ass town. During our set we launch into "War Pigs," you know... one of the few covers we do live. And the ENTIRE CROWD was singing along, there were ligters being held up... it was fucking great. That and in Manhattan where I spotted some people singing along to our tunes, which is always a good feeling.
Your musical influences
Alice in Chains, Strapping Young Lad, Black Label Society, Black Sabbath, Crowbar, Corrosion of Conformity, At The Gates, The Haunted, Crowbar...
What equipment do you use?
Damn near everything is Yamaha, Gibson, Ibanez, Peavey, etc. Good, workable gear.
Anything else?
That about covers it.
