A native of Detroit, Michigan was born and raised in a musical household. There were pianos, guitars, books, and sheet music throughout the house MEK could not resist. Her grandmother seen her interest and taught her how to write songs. She later learned to play the trumpet and read music. The creative soul in MEK, sprung out of her when she wrote her first song at 11 years old. Her unique style and charisma is evident in the songs that express exactly the way she feels.
Mek has involved her self in many project while pursuing her music career she has attend acting class where she landing her self a role in the stage play Who Wears the Mask with guest super star Woody Rock from the platinum selling group DRU HILL She was also selected to play Taya in a independent project called Particle Daughter. MEk has also done some modeling in her lifetime of which she attended John Roberts Powers Modeling and Talent School from there MEk was selected to go to IMTA in New York where she placed fourth in the jean category and also selected to do Ocean Spray Crazens Promotional Launch
Her performance is like a spark of electricity; unexpected, shock of energy with a different and unusual beat that you just cant resist dancing too.
