The songs of songwriter Russell J Adams from Lawrenceville, GA
Heart felt describes the way I've approached songwritng ever since I first started writing lyrics in 1977. Crafting thought provoking lyrics then combining them with exciting music to deliver the songs message has always been the goal of every songwriter, myself included.

Story behind the song
I was watching the sun go down before I was to teach a lesson at a songwriters class when the inspiration for this came to me. I wrote the first verse on the whiteboard and asked the class to follow up. When their attempts didn't work, I wrote the 2nd verse on the spot and then the chorus. William McDaniel helped me finish it and wrote the music on the spot. William also played guitar and bass on the recording, then sang it. The drums were tracked live at my church in our first attempt to record it, the rest was done in my my basement. I engineered and mixed it.
Lyrics
I saw the sun go down in the summer sky, as the light gave way to the comming night. Then the moon crept up into the corner of the sky, and the glory of it all brought a tear to my eye. And Your beauty amazes me Your beauty amazes me Your beauty amazes, me. And a new day came from what I counted as lost, when I laid my life at the foot of Your cross. In the grave I laid all I once held dear, and Your perfect love took away all my fear. And Your beauty amazes me Your beauty amazes me Your beauty amazes, me. Your beauty is shown in the heavens above, in the heart of a sinner redeemed by your love. When I open my heart and I open my eyes, I see You've colored my life like You've colored the skies. And Your beauty amazes me Your beauty amazes me Your beauty amazes, me. 2010 Russell Adams & William McDaniel
