A cover of a totally fabulous song by The Orange Alabaster Mushroom (Greg Watson). Psychedelic Pop at it's very best. Greg . . .you're a genius. File under: Psychedelic Pop/Rock
retro guitar based psyche

An 'Invisible Band' project.
This is a Major Snagg / Big Sleep 'side project', to create and record mostly high power psychedelic type of material (covers and originals). . . Full Tilt Psychedelia . Just as XTC briefly became The Dukes of Stratosfear, so have Tony and myself become The Lykes of Wytch . . . but probably only briefly . . . well maybe not !

Story behind the song
I discovered the songs by The Orange Alabaster Mushroom a couple of years ago. Originally a 'one-man-band', Greg Watson (from Ottowa, Canada) recorded his songs onto cassettes. Some of the earlier recordings are quite 'lo-fi' as a result, but still pretty awesome. He obviously got some better recording gear later, as other songs are very crisp and cleanly recorded. He put a band together of like minded individuals and plays live; mainly I guess, in Canada. He has a uncanny understanding of the psychedelic 60's sound. I'm a big fan of his songs. Hope you like my 'interpretation' of this brillliant song. You may recognise part of a hit song by Sonny and Cher that I incorporated in my 'outro'. Check out The Orange Alabaster Mushroom on Youtube and Facebook.

How do you find these songs, at any rate, it's sounding really good, David. Great guitar riffage and vocals/harmony. Just the title alone and the beat goes on outro are worth the listen and everything else is a bonus. Nice!

Fantastic song...really surprised that I've never come across this one before - didn't know the original at all. I love these quirky, slightly odd kind of songs. Great lyrics. You've done a first class job on the vocals and harmonies. Nice work on the guitar too! Quite an achievement to cover a song like this...there is such a lot of stuff in there!
