Punkish (in a Green Day sort of way) with a blistering guitar solo.

Just another space-metal goth-punk electro-folk industrial gospel rock opera
Pray is S. DeGennaro. S. DeGennaro is Pray. Conceptually, it is heavily influenced by Pink Floyd's "The Wall", Marilyn Manson's "Antichrist Superstar", and Queen's early albums, with a fair degree of thematic continuity and little to no space between songs. Musically, it draws from a staggering variety of styles (see influences below).

Story behind the song
This is the penultimate song on the album. It was written in the Spring of 1998, which makes it one of the earliest to make the final cut of the album. It is the flip-side to Quit and Prey--the happy coda that comes at the end of the album. Mike Edelman played drums on this one, for which I am eternally grateful. It would not have been nearly as good if I had tried to do it myself. This one took less than 6 months to record--something of a record for me. Although an earlier (and far crappier) version was started in 98.
Lyrics
First I'm born and then I die In between I blink my eye Cannot keep the truth at bay Overwhelms me every day Who knows when it's gonna end Or if it's all just pretend And if I'll say I'm satisfied Oh, but I'm not there yet I'll live To see another day Yeah, I say I think I'm going to find my way Cast out into the abyss But I've been through all of this Don't need money, don't need love I'm alive, and that's enough Who knows what tomorrow brings Or when the fat lady sings And if I'll say I'm satisfied Oh, but I'm not there yet I'll live To see another day Yeah, I say I think I'm going to find my way
