This is the first song I wrote after I became a Christian in 1974. I had been spiritually hungry, and was looking into a lot of different religeons. Surely there had to be something other than plain old Christianity! Actually, I found that all the other religions I was studying left me wondering if I was doing enough to please God and be worthy of heaven. I ruled them out one by one, and came to the conclusion that biblical Christianity had the only answer for the sin problem. I learned that I could actually KNOW I was saved and going to heaven - not because of my own works, but because of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross that completely paid the price for my sin.

But then he talked me into church I one night and this is what I heard
