Story behind the song

The lyrics for this song are about the lengths some will go to in order to satisfy and protect addictions. Most of the verses are based on anecdotes related to me by a friend and my interpretations of the meanings of those actions. My favorite part of this song is the way the odd guitar part in the verse and the moving bass line fit together like a jigsaw. The line "Stop drop and roll won't work in Hell" is meant to inject some humor into the lyrical process so it's not all anger and pain, but it should also conjure up some visions of the Bible Belt for those in the know.
