Original hard rock that pays tribute to AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Def Leppard while mixing in a touch of our own.
Guitar for the Masses
David Weiss - classically trained, rock and roll brained, and armed with a life-long dedication to making music on the guitar.
Story behind the song
This song is my effort to be as shamelessly commercial as possible while allowing me and my friends the guilty pleasure of playing guitar-based hard rock loud and proud. I studied my favorite songs by AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Def Leppard and poured them into this guitar riff.
Lyrically, the song is semi-autobiographical and it's all about growing old, accepting one's station in life, believing the power of rock and roll and passing it on to the future through your kids.
Lyrics
Saved by rock and roll
Healed my spirit, freed my soul
I shook the hands of Time
Hey kids gather ‘round
Listen to your daddy’s sound
And sing your old man’s rhyme
Well okay, whatever you say
Well alright, I’ll say good night
Love won’t let you down
Every time it comes around
But some things never change
Last one standing here
Looking in the face of Fear
Inside my golden cage
Well okay, whatever you say
Well alright, I’ll say good night…
