This is the 'Knapps Cutoff Band' in a live studio recording. Put on the headphones and chill .. and dream of a schooner making a full moon night crossing from St Maarten to Tortola.

Story behind the song
2005 A tune I've been playing with my band for a while now, this is the smooth jazz version with Carribean flavors. Remembering a trip on a schooner making a night crossing from St Maarten to Tortola during a full moon. This recording features some really nice interactions between Steve on Piano and myself on guitar. Enjoy! "The Knapps Cutoff Band" 2005 line up Steve Torok; Drums Marty Nicklin; Bass Steve Layman; Piano & Synth Michael Duran; Guitar & Synth

Conjures some very moody visuals, a very vividly painted picture with all the tones, textures and melody. I like the interaction between the guitar and piano.

There's very nice and pleasant character of this play - something about meditation. It makes you feel relaxation even if you're busy with something else while listening to the music. :)

Very nice instrumental with lots of great instrumentation! I'm wondering what year the 'Knapps Cutoff Band was active. This sounds new and fresh! Nice sounds!

The entire track flows so well as each instrument blends seamlessly to create something very electric and enjoyable. Besides your excellent guitar work, I was especially impress with the piano parts/solo. Nice!!!
A fascinating combination of smooth and energetic. Incredible yet effortless speed, a complex arrangement, and a whole lotta talent.

Beautiful tune and great production. Technically it is pure top class on all instruments. Some jazzy turns and twists in the guitar and piano takes it quite a bit further than the average instrumental rock song. Impressive how such a simple, clean backtrack can release so much creativity in the solo instruments. Great stuff, Michael!

Very cool track Michael. Like the panning on the keys. Nice guitar work and tone. Another great and different track from you for me. What is the story on the 'Knapps Cutoff Band'?
