This is a quirky piece starting out in an unusual 5/4 figure before switching to 4/4 time. It's busy with a lot of changes. Once it repeats a section it never returns it just moves on through the remaining changes to its final conclusion.

Fremont John plays Taylor acoustic guitars. Check out his CDs Timeline, Acoustic Thunder and Lightning Strikes the Bull. For fans of ,
A strong, versatile voice (think Jonny Lang or, Rob Thomas) and very clean, melodic guitar style (think acoustic Santana meets Craig Chaquico ) are Fremont's magic . Whether an original work or a cover song, John makes it his own. His style and killer sound make him a standout in a crowded field.

Story behind the song
This song developed over years starting when I was in my 20's and continuing on well into my 30's. I used to play it around the fire or at the picnic table with the family. My wife's (Margi) step-dad, Dirrill was a guitar player and he loved this tune. To honor both of them, I named it Dirrill's Daughter. Dirrill passed and later, she reconciled with her bio-dad. Concerned the title might hurt him, she requested I make a change. For them both, it's Daddy's Daughter.
