A soft ballad from the prodigal
Artist picture
Christ centered songs written by Dan Simmons...the best Gospel and inspirational A.I. music on the internet!
"firesong" is the songwriting ministry of Dan Simmons Thanks for stopping by. It's my desire to faithfully share that which has been given to me. This website will be a sampling of recordings that I, along with family and friends, have done over past 45 years. There are over 600 original unpublished songs presented in demo form on this site. Special thanks go to my partners in music, my daughter Amber, son Ian and the guys of Single Heart (Gene, Bob, Chris, Marty and Tata) who joined me to sing praises to the Lord down through the years. I also wish to thank those co-writers and artists that have joined with me in developing new music the passed few years to share on this website. I'm now featuring AI (Artificial Intelligence) groups that I've developed to sing some of the songs. I hope it's evident to everyone... that though the melodies and harmonies, styles and singers may change... JESUS has always been and will always be...the Song! ...this music is one simple expression of a very thankful heart. (Dan is a retired firefighter and ordained minister)

Story behind the song
This is a remake of a song from the "prodigal' Project with Ian and Amber...the prodigal son is questioning as to whether he should go home and will anyone care.
Lyrics
As I walk this path before me And as I turn my heart toward home Who will be there thinking of me? Cause Lord I feel all alone Who will meet me? Who will greet me? Who will welcome me home? Who will see how hard I'm trying? Who will hold my trembling hand? Who will dry all these tears I'm crying? Who will help me understand? Who will love Me? Who will hug me? When I can't go on Who will kiss me? Who has missed me? Who will welcome me home? Who will welcome me home? Who will welcome me home? Who will welcome me home?
