I am just a guy who started composing something that resembled film music, but lately I am broadening my horizons with partnerships with another musicians and steps in genres like orchestral pop or even folkloric music. A few live tracks recorded with Hanna of The Northern Overlook and arranged in orchestra key. The mixture of live music and computer production gives a very interesting result.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, but usually not to the public. Despite of the fact that most of my music is computer programmed just by myself and is a bit pointless to make a live performance, I have had the luck of make some live sessions with Hanna of the band The Northern Overlook. It was great, she is a superb guitar player and I couldn't keep myself to test all the instruments that I found: With her I have played accordion, melodica, banjo, mandolin, harmonica... and a lot of percussion stuff. We recorded some of it and it became wonderful. I also have a little live playing with some other friends, among them I want to mention Jessica, who also plays the guitar beautifully and with whom I had the chance to make a guitar duo, plus a lot more of pieces where I was singing (yes, I do sing).
Your musical influences
If we focus on my film music side, we find people like Michael Nyman, Mychael Danna, Philip Glass... and smaller touches of people like James Horner and eventually other popular folks. If we focus on my more pop/folk side, we find Yann Tiersen, we find a bit of The Divine Comedy, maybe Tindersticks when it comes to the lush orchestral arrangements... and especially as for the folk part, I am interested on compiling as many references as I can from the world of gipsy music. That is something that always has interested me... Goran Bregovic is just the most popular one, but we have the ensemble Radio Pascani and many more.What equipment do you use?
The software Reason 2.0 Eventually some mastering tools such as T-Racks but not always. I have a cheap piano plugged to the computer. Nothing really advanced.Anything else?
