Hammond B3 organ, drums and reeds
It's a retro sound with an acid jazz edge.
We have played extensively in the Boston area and our music has appeared in films, on television and has been downloaded in the tens of thousands internationally.
Band/artist history
The B3 Driven Trio Features Scott on his many horns With Tommy West at the wheel of the Hammond Organ and Zac Casher on drums. Also augmented in several larger chamber jazz group with Jesse Williams on upright and Randy Bramwell on electric Bass
Keichi Hashimito-Trumpet,David Harris-Trombone, Larry Carsman-Guitar,Ken Cook-Piano.I wrote these pieces to give the players something to explore like a small element of harmony or change of direction in the melodic line and tried to present the music in as simple a form as possible recording the first two or three takes live to get the freshest feel. All of the players on these recordings contributed to the construction of the music and I am forever in their debt. Whispers of comparison to the Rare Groove era of Blue Note records of the late 60's and 70 's are thrown around by listeners who have experienced the music.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We have played regularly at the original House Of Blues In Boston for years where there is a house B3. We were also included in their Organ Grinder series and got to share the stage with Jimmie McGriff & David Fathead Newman, major influences in the tradition of Organ jazz combos. We regret that the "House" recently closed shop but we continue to play down the street in Somerville at The Kirkland Cafe when we are in town as all of us tour quite a bit with more commercially viable acts for our $.
