Story behind the song
I had witnessed a saved relative turning away from Christ, and running head long into the world. I thought about the loss of the relationship with the Lord, and what it would be like to be on my own. I remembered how often in the minor prophets He called out for Israel to "RETURN TO ME." He is the shelter of home, a safe harbor, an anchor that holds in the storm. I pray someday I will see that loved one return to the Lord.
