Story behind the song
The album "Letting Go" chronicles the soul journey of choosing love over fear. "Down" was written as a release of fear. After many years of drowning myself in the pain of a horrible experience, I took a deep breath and went down as far as I could go. And it was then that I realized...the water was shallow now, and I could simply stand up and save myself.
Lyrics
Said it’s time you started to know So he entered…I’ve been waiting for you to come home And this time I feel your lies against my body Lying, lying here…and I will walk on the water, and I will run through my heart I will follow you Down You cannot find me here Staring back in the mirror, your eyes I see Searching my pain for the joy of your kill And this time for the ending I’ll run to me…to me instead…and I will walk on the water, and I will run through my heart I will follow you Down Down to where you’ll never find me Down to where you cannot find me Still running I head to the water’s edge…you were there And I saw where you entered, and I saw where you stayed And no care you could take would still my…still my heart And I know and I know and I know and I know and I I will walk on the water, and I will run through you, run through you I will follow you Down Down to where you’ll never find me Down to where you’ll never find me I will…
