Story behind the song
This was the first song I (Malc) ever wrote, struggled for months thinking of how to write a tune, then one day this happened. Strangest thing about it was the timing - it's 3/4 not 4/4, which probably been easier to write in! Also the lyrics came off the top of my head (with a little tweaking later from Stevie) and didn't mean anything at the time but reading between the lines it seems as though the song is about a real bad year coming to an end and the hope for the new year. Mad. (note:- this is the recorded early demo of the song before aquiring a "human" drummer - a new version will be recorded soon.)
Lyrics
Verse 1: Go dry in the summer. How much does it hurt Nobody asked you to go Fly south for the winter. No-one to welcome you. No-body asked you to stay. Verse 2: Shoot up in the springtime. Nothing will bloom for you. You simply wont take the hint. You fall in the autumn. Withering with the leaves. Don't think you'll ever rise again. Chorus: You're comin' to the end of your so-called life. And how does it feel to know that you wont be missed. Verse 3: There's nothing left for you now. Just leave the rest for us. Only the chosen remain. We see you fade away. No tears are in our eyes. We're not sorry to say, goodbye. Repeat Chorus Outro: You're at the end. You're at the end. You're at the end. You're gone.
