Rising out of the ashes from two legendary Oklahoma bands, guitarist Rick Davis (Kill the Silence) and bassist Jon Parr (Echofist), have teamed together with powerhouse drummer Jared Adams (3 Hours of Darkness) to unleash “Shotgun Rebellion” onto the southern metal landscape. Thousands of fans all over the southwest have seen the power that both “Kill the Silence” and “Echofist” brought to the stage in their live performances. More wanting ears throughout the country and the world know their names and the music they left behind thanks to the magic of online entertainment. They have stood beneath the lights with hundreds of talented musicians and have opened for dozens of National Touring Acts now the two driving forces behind these dominating bands are united in a single cause. Before there was “Kill the Silence” there was “3 Hours of Darkness”, and the thundering rhythms of Jared “Fuzzy” Adams. With the idea of forging southern rock and blues metal , Jared was the only option worthy of sitting on the throne of “Shotgun Rebellion”. It only took a few days for the word of their union to get out before the show offers began to pour in. With only a single practice under their belts, “SGR” was asked to perform two hundred miles to the south in Dallas for a Texas music showcase. Three days later “SGR’s” presence was requested to play Oklahoma City’s massive Coca-Cola Events Center with metal legends “Forte”, “The Rev Jones Band”, and “Warbeast”. Paying tribute to their previous projects, Shotgun Rebellion” released a five song CD entitled “Silent Echo” containing unused tracks left over from “Kill the Silence”, a resurrected song from “3 Hours of Darkness”, and a brand new collaboration from Rick and Jon. The performance in Bricktown had sent a shockwave throughout the Oklahoma music scene, and the invitations to open for major players such as “The Texas Hippie Coalition” and former “Dokken” guitarist George Lynch’s project “Lynch Mob” were immediate. “Shotgun Rebellion” is solid and powerful in their sound and style. Their success in blending metal, southern rock, and elements of the blues is evident in tracks such as “Roll On”, “Pray for the Day”, “Devil’s Home Brew”, “Sinners”, and “Poor Man’s Sleep”. In a short amount of time; Davis, Parr, and Adams have locked themselves into a formidable songwriting partnership which the world can hear for itself June 3, 2011 when “SGR” releases its much anticipated full length album “Train of Pain”.
