Lyrics
AMERICANS
By: Robert A. Muscovitz
Date: April 2000
Revised: April 2003
Many years ago
White man came to this place
Now called America
The land of peace and grace
Restless wanderers
Seeking out the land
To raise their families
Together hand in hand.
They met the Red Man here
Who fought between themselves
Then wars and treaties came
The books are on the shelves
Restless wanderers
Claimed the countryside
To raise their families
Yet keep the Red Man’s pride
The White Man brought the Black
Then fought a civil war
Freedom across the land
A legal metaphor
Restless wanderers
Doing all they could
To raise their families
In the name of good.
Then Yellow came to be
A part of who we are
It must be heaven’s plan
This lands a shining star
Restless wanderers
Four colors of the Earth
All raising families
Now claiming freedom’s birth.
T’was many years ago
And now we’re all the same
Red, Yellow, Black and White
We’re glad our fathers came
Restless Wanderers
Who came to make a stand,
All raising families
Now all American.
It’s time we realize
Put ethnic ties away
We’re children of this land
The same in every way
Restless Wanders
Sharing this great land
A melting pot of pride
Together hand in hand
United we must stand
We’re all Americans, Americans

Real interesting tune Bob. Lots of good lyrics and sung in a more subtle , laid back style than some of your others. The sound of the guitar was intriguing. How did you get that tone? maximum compression? Whatever, it's very unique and fit the tune very well. A good song that held me in to the end. Nice!
