Straight up rock song.
Indie-type rock project. Mix of guitars, piano, drum loops, and real drums. Heavy at times, always melodic, very moody.
Indie-Rock, acoustic, piano, guitar driven project of Kevin Mattos. A mix of heavy and progressive with soft and moody, always melodic. Basically just some stuff to keep me busy. TGS is: Kevin Mattos: guitars/vocals/keyboards/drums/drumloops/bass

Story behind the song
Taken from the perspective of a man at the end of his rope. An ordinary type guy turned into a thief who holds up a store just to try to provide for his family.
Lyrics
I just remembered to breathe, hold it in and let it out real slowly, no one knows (these things used to come easily) They've got their heads to the floor, eyes shut tight not meant to be caught in the path I chose (described to myself to believe) Some day I'll wash this away I tied an unloaded gun to my hand to fix forever to see this through I'd say the fear in their eyes would bring tears, but they don't need this like I do She cries almost everynight, quietly she doesn't think that I can hear her song (words never fixed anything) I can remember a time when we had all that we ever needed now that's gone (so much for remembering) There's only so much dispair men can take before they act while letting consequences fade to the background track I'm not a violent man, but I'll do what I need I'm not pretending to be absolute, I'm just forgetting to bleed Some day I'll pray this away CHORUS Another time, another life when we can avoid pretending nothing's wrong at all Another promise brought to light is breaking like a cold black heart that was always meant to fall CHORUS But I always leave something and now reality's coming sirens to shatter my dreams and to leave us cold Now I'm accomplishing nothing save for a love now untrusting unless my final stand turns to gold
