Lovely tune George...and i think the title fits it perfectly. man you sure know some pretty chords. i think you can hear even more than you can play...and you like to explore. There seems to be a love for jazz in you. I hear shades of Leo Kottke in here as well. This song covers alot of ground..an overall sensitive and emotional piece. Well done!
This is the most wonderfully composed song I have ever heard. Pinedog is right on track with terms like 'covers a lot of ground' and 'an overall sensitive and emotional piece'. For me, (age 65, a musician and music lover) this song penetrates the soul. The melody speaks to both ear and heart similar to Mercer and Mancini's 'Moon River' and Gershwin's masterpiece, 'Rhapsody in Blue'. The bridge carries the listener to an unearthly place in time, gently returning to that unforgettable melody which is the substratum upon which George Ballentine has built a true and beautiful love song. George's masterful work as a guitarist is evidenced throughout by uniform tonal quality consonant with sophisticated chords that are introduced by intricate finger work. This masterpiece stands alone and embraces the strictest disciplines of Classicism. It would melt the heart of the toughest music critic. Thanks, Geo. We love you.
