Story behind the song
Inspired by a poem written by Carol Young which gives the cowgirl a voice really. I wanted to do a cowboy lament which as worked out well! Thanks for the inspiration Carol!
Lyrics
'The Lonesome Wife's Lament' Where are you? I sit in the meadow Sunlight kissing the trees The fragrance of flowers In the air Dreaming of you Are you dreaming of me? Lonely without you Frightened and tired Running this ranch and Looking after the children Is hard work as well I realise it must be Tough for you Searching for work Out there in the wilderness Amongst the tumbleweed I hope it won't be long Until we are re-united Are you dreaming of me? This is a great great compostion. That little background thing you put in there neato. The lyrics coudl of been sung with the song but they fit real well just being there. Excellent Gavin.
