Welcome to the music of Carlo D'Anna's Ridiculous Dream music. Also known as "Dream Warrior" in some circles. Influences and music styles ranging from basic to progressive rock, with definite Retro seventies sound. If you enjoy the sound of Moody Blues, George Harrison, Genesis, Dead Can Dance, and others of the same style, more or less, you will probably like this music. I use quite a bit of Mellotron and acoustic fingerstyle guitar as well.

Lyrics
A ship of Iron Fantasy, I bid thee not to tell That any blokes who cross her path, we blowed them straight to hell. And tho the hardships plenty as we traipse across the seas. I’d never trade another life with fellows such as these. My name is Bard Cargatheon and my tale is full of woe, As I started as a child with nowhere good to go. And so my Paps, deep in his cups, as cruel as he could be, sold me to a Trader ship for a paltry fee. I started as a cabin boy, and I worked for crusts and scraps, And moved my way to able hand, I’m brilliant so perhaps. ‘till a thieving ship upon us took me hostage, and I knew A better life as Pirate mate, so I joined the filthy crew. One day a barge of Red Coats, cruising for a fight, Skimmed down across the Northern Seas and in a waning light, Crossed our bow with cannon blast, killed quarter of our host, But in the morn’the burning barge was sunk, the red coats turned to toast. I’ve never had a proper room, nor a bed to call my name. All of ye land lubbers p’haps say my paps to blame. But I find this life does me well, and I ne’r have regrets, For being a thieving Pirate, with my bristles and my threats

I especially like the story line of this song, it's great, and the little breaks in between some verses with the flute, just beautiful.

Carlo pretty well maybe excellent. Has that old tradition of the story - sea scape story. The music fits it perfectly, the voacls and story added like that. Just perfect. You could have sung this song in 1720 1620 1520 or 2020.
This is outstanding, Carlo. Your voice and lyrics truly bring this tale into reality...and the listener is there, with you and your emotional instrumentation, for the historic song story. Thank you for this musical journey on the CBC Pirates/Sea Song Challenge, and for the dl to our JBBQ music player of new songs.
Great lyrics, singing, guitars acoustic bass, accordian. Builts a historical scene. Love it!

As a Brit from an island and seafaring nation I can relate to the vibe/atmosphere of this song very much. Superb historical elements, the story telling is first class and the wonderful production and arrangement are icing on the cake.

Top piece of songwriting here Carlo - fantastic production too. Love the way you mix up different percussion and keyboard sounds with the guitars and flute to produce an original sound. Superb vocal and lyric. Atmospheric and classic.

A classic gem that oozes the sea. The tragic story draws the listener in completely. Great lyrics (strong enough to thrive in poetry form), stellar character vocal work, so damn good. Spot on musicianship, historically accurate feel of the era. Amazing percussion too. This one really stands out, awesome!
