never trust a man with a guitar.
I've long been fascinated by how music takes you away to another time or place and transforms your state of mind. When I was about six years old, I wore out a toy guitar, amp and microphone. I wanted to be just like Garth Brooks back then. I started piano lessons at around age eight. I played clarinet, alto and baritone saxophone in middle and high school. And then I discovered guitar at age fourteen, literally played until my fingers bled on more than one occasion. I also wrote my first song around that time; it was called "Twister." "Blame" came more than fifteen years ago, and I haven't put the guitar down since. It's been one of the few constants in my life. My influences run the gamut but most notably include Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bob Dylan and many popular alternative rock artists of the '90's. Most important for me, it's about creativity, artistic expression and capturing moments of raw emotion. Music is my outlet, and I can only hope that some tiny part of at least one of these songs speaks to you as it has to me.

Lyrics
manichee v1 daring is he who risks bearing all shame despite his good measure seeks more than his claim b1 but beware of the vultures shoveling shadows in a circle above head for they hold the key a devil’s game they play they prey on the weak and with fear they hold reign c can a room full of blind men turn a profit on sight in a world full of aces where ambition’s gone wild v2 ambition is god and religion’s bowed out and man is a measure of how much he puts out b2 but beware of the prophets pandered promises of freedom without fare for they hold the key a devil’s game they play where the means and the ends are all one in the same c can a room full of blind men turn a profit on sight in a world full of aces where ambition’s gone wild b3 is it ever that simple who should face trial in a world full of aces where ambition’s gone wild © 2008 | Jason Stone
