RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Lyrics
lock the back door, let him come in through the window lock the back door, he gets in too easily lock the back door, let him come in through the window lock the back door, then just throw away the key midnight and on my own, midnight and all alone who was never lonely ? who was never lonely ? and when you told me the way you were really feeling - you nearly broke my heart you could have scraped my reactions right off the ceiling - you nearly broke my heart you rolled it out in a way I was not expecting - you nearly broke my heart the only thing that I felt was a cruel rejecting - you nearly broke my heart lock the back door, let him come in through the window lock the back door, he gets in too easily lock the back door, let him come in through the window lock the back door, then just throw away the key midnight some hope and then, midnight alone again who was never lonely ? who was never lonely ? you should have left all the words that you said unspoken - you know you broke my heart one million words won't repair what you now have broken - you know you broke my heart you've set your course, you've set out and there's no returning - you know you broke my heart you've stepped across, now look back and the bridge is burning - you know you broke my heart lock the back door, let him come in through the window lock the back door, he gets in too easily lock the back door, let him come in through the window lock the back door, then just throw away the key
