Sidney Earl Goodroe is a musician, engineer, and producer. I reside in Macon, Georgia. I have been composing and recording music for some 40 years. Classical music training began at age 7. I picked up guitar at age 12. I began playing in dance bands about age 14. By the time I was 17, I was already involved in opening shows for some of the better known Capricorn Record artists. Tragicly, when time came for me to sign my own deal, Capricorn had to file bankruptcy and shut down. But, I moved on with a deal with Albert Drake in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I ended up doing some studio work for CBC. I came back to the States and started touring all over. Suffering from road burnout, I came home to Macon. I am now married and settled down, but, I own my own studio and freelance for all sorts of projects.

Story behind the song
This song was composed to help the Macon, Georgia Fire Department educate children about fire safety and what to do in the event of being caught in a fire. It was given to the federal fire inspectors and is still in use now in schools all over the country. The chorus was actually recorded on location in Station No. 1 with about 40 firefighters shouting the catch phrases. The deep voice you hear is actually a Macon firefighter. I loved the resonance of his voice and had to use him on something.
