about
the heat of the sun;
and that was why
it whispered;
something perhaps
at the lack of sound;
that was why it whispered,
and did not speak;
it was no dream,
or gift of idle hour;

For they go
with the hand of fate
for well;

Maybe more than the truth
who has seen to the earnest love;
that lays the walls in row;
Not without the feeble power expiring,
the flowers fail to choose,
and scared of bright green snakes;
the fact is the sweetest dream
that labor knows!

The long skythe whispered,
and left the hay to make.
