Story behind the song
CBC 007 Challenge for September 2011. I did not make it because I found out about the challenge 16 hours before it was due. I had written the song in time...just not completed the recording (some lyrics and production). Instead of just writing a song inspired by James Bond movies or Ian Flemming, I decided to go for broke and write a song that could be a theme song for a movie. Some additional thoughts: the lyrics were inspired in part from an incident involving my son and his then girlfriend. Quite a nasty story...but that is his business, heh.
Lyrics
Another bullet Another story Another headline Where’s the glory You hide in shadows You cowardly attack You pull the trigger Never looking back You need someone to be your fun till the deed is done And they are bleeding You need to feel your empty thrill and taste the kill You are needing The kill shot to the heart oh yea Just kiss it all goodbye A kill shot to the heart oh baby Once you get into the rhythm you can take another victim all apart I watch the way that you’re lookin at me and I guarantee I’m not feelin sorry for ya I know that this is not how it should be but I promise you I still adore ya The only time she stays is when she is playing you (I’m playing you) The only crime that pays is when she carries through (it’s killing you) The kill shot to the heart oh yea Just kiss it all goodbye A kill shot to the heart oh baby Once you get into the rhythm you can take another victim all apart The kill shot to the heart oh yea Just kiss it all goodbye A kill shot to the heart oh baby Once you get into the rhythm you can take another victim all apart

Wow great song here Jon - amazing you pulled off such a pro theme tune in such a short time. It's a brilliant song in itself - melody, outstanding vocals, stunning production - but then you added those subtle "Bond" touches (eg awesome muted trumpet) that just blew me away. Fantastic!
