Formed in 1996 by Terry Harkleroad and Marion Heath Moore “Smooth Generation” is a musical production outlet designed to spread POSITIVE messages to a world facing an uncertain future. The sound of “Smooth Generation” fuses Rock, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, House, Techno, Ambient, Pop, and Drum & Bass into one undeniable sound. Their first release “Drift Away” (2000 / Vault Entertainment) received a very warm welcome from the college and indie markets. 2009 saw the release of their second album entitled “Revolution”. This digital only release is a precursor to the film in works by screenplay writer/producer/director Terry Harkleroad entitled “The Vault Of Lights”. 2011 sees the release of their third digital only album entitled “Dub Remixes, Dark Rock, & Funky Joints.”

Story behind the song
The original version of this song was a full vocal Christian rock / pop song performed by an artist Terry and I were working with from 2009 to 2010. (Susa from her album “Godsend”) I was working on a break-beat dance track for DJ X’s radio show in Orlando, FL. I sampled one line from Susa’s song (“Can You Hear”), which fit perfectly over top of the track. This is the hard techno remix of the track. I put a lot of focus on the panning synth stabs and the drum programming.
