With a nod to the Dark Fantasy and Horror writer Clark Ashton Smith, this is a theme song to the tale of Hyperborea. A mythic land that existed in the area of Greenland in another eon perhaps. For the CBC 2011 Halloween challenge.

Welcome to the music of Carlo D'Anna's Ridiculous Dream music. Also known as "Dream Warrior" in some circles. Influences and music styles ranging from basic to progressive rock, with definite Retro seventies sound. If you enjoy the sound of Moody Blues, George Harrison, Genesis, Dead Can Dance, and others of the same style, more or less, you will probably like this music. I use quite a bit of Mellotron and acoustic fingerstyle guitar as well.

Story behind the song
Hyperborea is a legendary continent in the Arctic. Before it was overwhelmed by the advancing ice sheets of the Pleistocene age, Hyperborea was warm and fertile with lush jungles inhabited by the last remnants of the dinosaurs. A race of yeti-like bipeds known as the Voormi once populated Hyperborea, but were wiped out by the pre-human settlers that migrated here from the south. These pre-humans built the first capital of Hyperborea at Commoriom. Later they moved to Uzuldaroum when prophesies foretold of Commoriom's doom.

An amazing tale and an even more amazing musician interpretation! Very atmospheric, a superb blend of interweaving tones and textures. The ethereal vibe throughout is quite chilling, yet somehow engaging and enchanting at the same time. Superb track.

Wonderful song, Carlo. You have captured the dark mood intended with great mix of instruments such as organ and guitars for a Halloweeny effect/affect!! This song was most creative for the CBC 4th Annual Monster's Ball on SoundClick. And thank you for the dl.

Classic, sweetly flowing, magical. Love how the gorgeous acoustic guitar guides the tune along. Amazing varied textures combine beautifully, a dynamite track!
