Story behind the song
Liner Note From Dr. Bob: "Mary and I were in first grade together, and then junior and senior high school. Afterwards, over many years, her home has remained our native-born "Out West" - while I have lived from "Down South" to my now longtime home away from home "Back East". Mary recently sent me the following short letter which inspired this song:" A LETTER FROM MARY - October 22, 2011 "Dear Bob, I know this is silly - sending you fall leaves when you have so many in your part of the country. I just thought it would remind you of Quincy Street and Jefferson School. I can't remember when Mother Nature gave us a more beautiful fall. Classmate love, Mary" ****************************************************** ENDNOTE: In the letter's envelope, there were ten of the most beautiful Autumn Leaves (small and larger) in the World! And each of the nostalgic leaves did, indeed, capture the essence of a classical celebratory song: "FALLING LEAVES OF TIME - To Mary Gallup-Livingston".
