This is what started it all! We recorded this in 1958, wound up doing tours with Johnny Cash, and many others.
Story behind the song
This was recorded at KAYBANK Studio, Minneapolis, in 1957, which later burned down so the complete album was lost. We sold this at gigs and sent it ahead to radio stations in towns where we were to appear next. Ron Meek,vocals and guitar; Tom Gilman on bass; Al Johnson on tenor sax; Johnny Wallace (the Chicago Flash) on drums and Don Shaw on piano. Tom and I are the only ones left from the band, the others have passed on, he lives in Maryland. A 45 of this recently sold on EBAY.
