Story behind the song
My freind, Lee Parratt, had the idea for this song. Lee, Ian Stalcup and I sat down and wrote this song together. For a couple of us it was our first song.
Lyrics
Working Man L. Parrat, G. West, I. Stalcup It’s three o’clock in the morning As I’m driving home Had a hard night at work And now another hard night alone It breaks my heart to pieces To know that you’re not there Just another lonely night With the T.V. and a beer Chorus Well I’m a working man And I ain’t got much I’d give everything I have For just one more touch I know it won’t be easy But I’ll work hard for your love I ain’t giving up ‘Cause I’m a working man I walk myself to the bed room To call it a night Couldn’t have you here with me today So I’ll dream of you tonight I close my eyes and I see you Back when you were mine You smile and ask me how I’ve been And I dream that we’re just fine Repeat Chorus Each morning as the alarm is ringing I kiss you good by One last chance to hold you, Before I open up my eyes Then I go on with life ‘Cause I’m a working man I’m a working man And I ain’t got much I’d give everything I have For just one more touch I know it won’t be easy But I’ll work hard for your love I ain’t giving up ‘Cause I’m a working man
