Story behind the song
One of the first songs we wrote, in fact written whilst in a previous band. A quick work over as part of the new material and here it is....Ken. I wrote these lyrics a short time after my son was diagnosed with a very rare condition called "Norries Syndrome" which, to cut a long story short, effectively left him blind 8 weeks after his birth. The lyric "Remedy" came about as that was what my wife and I were looking for, for Matthew, but his condition is irreversable. I had originally wanted to write the song about Matthew and the hope of a Remedy, but in the end it came out as almost like a conversation between my son and I if you check out the lyrics its almost a question and answer session that i didnt quite pull off. It became a bit confused and was turning into a love song/ a cry for help.and is all a bit confused - which is fine because at that time as you can imagine life seemed a bit confused and unfair. This song is very special to me as it was meant to be about my son but more than that it was the first song Ken and I wrote together and it set us out on the road of writing our own material as up until then we had been playing covers. Also, our great friendship started around about that time too......Jim
