Story behind the song

For many years I have prayed to be "relieved of the bondage of my self", i.e.  I am my own worst enemy and if I only just get out of the way, God's will can be done!    I sort of took that phrase and expanded it into a prayer/lyric.  It is said that if we sing to the Lord, we "pray twice".  Well, the lyric of this song is in itself a prayer so hopefully it's especially effective!
