Slowly walking thru the street
soft sunbeams shining down on me
Battered
shattered
tattered
nothing more than moving debris
Thoughts on empty
eyes gazing at oblivion
heart tick-tock’ing like a pendulum clock
With a sudden shock
I realize I’ve drifted off to an unknown block
Something has changed
breathing seems easier
the atmosphere is cheaper
The birds sing more clearer
the blue of the sky grows deeper
The sun highlighting the concrete in’to a mirror
while I’m absently staring at it like a sleeper
A warm energy flows out to my body from within my chest
Smiling... my heart beating fast
vigorously pumping blood out on it’s noble quest
Feeling strong and happy
the root of life caressing my fingertips
One clear moment and then it is gone
shadows cover it like a solar eclipse
My mouth again grabbed by gravity
sighing loudly as I continue walking
Step by step
just keep on going.
That’s my metaphorical Happiness
just one single moment of clarity.
