Story behind the song
The story behind this song is of a world where the Rapture actually occurs, except in this place, Heaven doesn't care if you've been good, it only cares if you're beautiful. The story is told from the point of view of someone who has been left behind and can't come to grips with that fact. He sees all of the disgusting filth surrounding him and realizes that he is a part of it. He does whatever he can to trick his way into Heaven, but to no avail. Finally out of desperation, he begins to tear apart his face and body in an attempt to become something beautiful...
