Lyrics
I've Got To Fly
Just a whisper before I go
And with joy, I'll see you tomorrow
Just a whisper before I go
Though with parting comes great sorrow
Heavy blades, they spin above me
Lift me up from the ground
My mind drifts to a near future time
When in your arms I'm found
I've got to fly, going off to war
I've got to fly, you're the one I'm fighting for
But my love when you dream at night remember to save a place for me...
Angie waits for her hero's call
As she dreams of all his ways
The piano against the wall
Fills the time, so Angie plays
While she plays, she sees his face
She can almost feel his hands
She can picture the coming day
When he returns from desert sands
I've got to fly, going off to war
I've got to fly, you're the one I'm fighting for
But my love when you dream at night remember to save a place for me...
Rescue call on the radio
A motorcycle today
Throttled up to maximum speed
Another body to save
Something's wrong with the bird I fly
Through the air I slip
While a prayer to Him I cry
Your name is on my lips
I've got to fly, with a smile upon my face
I've got to fly, residing in His grace
Blue skies and rainbows surround me all the day
With your love the beacon to guide me on my way
But my love when you come on home, I'll remember to save a place for you.
